Aqua-Tech are recruiting for a Site Operative to work on a ST WW site.
Site Operative
Are you a proactive and safety-focused individual with a knack for keeping things running smoothly on a busy site? We're seeking a dedicated Site Labourer to play a crucial role in our project, combining essential labouring duties with vital traffic management responsibilities.
Your Mission:
*
Site Support: Get hands-on with site preparation, clearance, and material handling. You'll set up site barriers and signage, operate small tools, and ensure the entire site, including cabins, remains clean and organised. You'll also be key in maintaining a 2km temporary track to the site and efficiently managing all incoming deliveries.
*
Traffic Management: As a qualified Bankman / Traffic Marshal, you'll be the eyes and ears for vehicle movements. You'll expertly direct HGVs, delivery wagons, and plant machinery on and off-site, using clear hand signals and radio communication. Ensuring pedestrian and worker safety within exclusion zones, monitoring access points, and coordinating closely with the Site Manager will be paramount. You'll also be responsible for escorting vehicles along the temporary track (a company vehicle will be provided).
*
Safety First: Your commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance is non-negotiable. You'll attend daily briefings, report any concerns, and always wear your PPE.
What We're Looking For:
*
Qualifications:
*
Must Have: A valid CSCS Card (Green or above) and a current Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman Certificate.
*
Great to Have: Certifications in Confined Space, Manual Handling, First Aid (1-day min.), CAT & Genny Awareness, Fire Warden, or Slinger / Lift Supervisor.
*
Experience: You'll ideally bring a proven track record from civil engineering or utility projects, particularly within the water sector. Experience in a similar labouring role and confidently directing traffic on live construction sites is essential.
*
Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication (including hand signalling), physical fitness for manual work, a keen awareness of site safety and traffic risks. We need a reliable, punctual, and proactive team player who can also work effectively with minimal supervision.
Working Environment:
This is an outdoor, site-based position where you'll experience varying weather conditions. While standard hours are 40 per week, flexibility for early starts, longer shifts, and occasional weekend work will be required to meet project demands.
