About The Role
We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Civil Engineering 3D Technician to support the delivery of high-quality, sustainable CAD and digital solutions across a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects. This includes roads, rail infrastructure, data centres, residential schemes, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities;
1. Produce detailed drainage and external works drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
2. Develop and refine designs using MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, or InfoDrainage.
3. Create accurate 2D and 3D models for masterplans and detailed designs across sectors such as regeneration, aviation, infrastructure, and industrial.
4. Coordinate below-ground design with structural, architectural, and environmental teams, including clash detection.
5. Support the preparation of technical submissions for planning and statutory approvals.
6. Ensure all designs comply with current UK standards, codes of practice, and SuDS principles.
7. Apply BIM protocols (BS EN ISO 19650) and digital workflows to support project delivery.
8. Use digital tools such as Navisworks, Infraworks, and other platforms to enhance coordination and design quality.
9. Follow RBG IMS quality processes (ISO 9001 & 14001) and support health and safety compliance, including CDM Regulations 2015.
10. Maintain high standards of CAD output, documentation, and drawing file management in line with RBG documentation standards.
11. Liaise with document controllers to ensure proper document control procedures and track internal distributions.
About You
12. You are a technically proficient and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in drainage and external works design. You bring a proactive mindset, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
13. What You’ll Bring
14. Proven experience delivering commercial drainage and external works designs.
15. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
16. Hands-on experience with MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, or InfoDrainage.
17. In-depth understanding of UK drainage design standards and SuDS principles.
18. Familiarity with Section 104, 106, and 278 design processes.
19. Experience liaising with local authorities and utility providers.
20. Working knowledge of Navisworks, Infraworks, and BIM workflows (BS EN ISO 19650).
21. Excellent communication and coordination skills.
22. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and technical excellence.
23. Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
24. A relevant degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in the field.
