We take product quality extremely seriously at Bedfolk and are looking for a Product Technologist to join the team to take this area of the business to the next level. As our Product Technologist you will be responsible for: · Owning and developing Bedfolk’s library of technical manuals and guides, including updating and maintaining Bedfolk’s Performance and Compliance Standards. · The organisation, review and renewal of supplier audit reports, test reports and certifications. · Working with the Product Lead on new product developments, creating measurement specs and risk assessments of products for safety and compliance to global legislation. · Working with the Product Lead and Brand Lead/ Manager to create Bedfolk’s sustainability pillars, and any related research and supplier communications. · Reviewing development samples; measuring samples, checking construction and fabric quality, along with the Product Lead, and handling workbooks and comments to suppliers. · Reviewing and approving gold seals, test reports and supplier inspections, pre-shipment. · Approval of care label layouts and content. · Upkeep of relevant sections of the Critical Path, communicating with suppliers throughout development to ensure timely submissions and production. · Creating inspection reports for the QC team, ahead of intake of bulk goods. Acting as the main point of contact for QC queries during bulk inspections, feeding back to the Product Lead and liaising with suppliers to resolve any issues. · Acting as a point of contact for the Customer Care and QC team to help analyse and advise on product quality, returns and customer complaints; to come to a swift and efficient resolution. · Creating and developing strong relationships with the team, our suppliers and third-party consultants to work collaboratively across the business. Most importantly our Product Technologist needs to have a pro-active, self-starting attitude, and be comfortable working at a high level whilst also not being afraid to get stuck and their hands dirty. We are a small close-knit team that work hard, support one another, and take the initiative to get things done. We are open to both part-time and freelance applicants and can be flexible for the right person. The role is hybrid but regular ad-hoc time at our warehouse in Cheltenham will be required.
