Clinical Support Worker - Outpatients ( CIC )
Band 3 Clinical Support Worker – 37.5 hours per week.
Role is based in the Outpatient Departments at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The CSW will set up and close down all relevant Outpatient Clinics and perform essential clinical skills, such as venepuncture, ECG recording, basic observations, blood monitoring, basic wound care and spirometry.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist registered nurses and other healthcare practitioners in delivering high quality patient care.
* Maintain patient privacy and dignity at all times and provide compassionate and sensitive care.
* Act as an effective part of the multi‑disciplinary team and contribute to departmental objectives.
* Develop and maintain competencies in nursing tasks to ensure high quality, safe care.
* Support housekeeping and other ward/department duties (e.g. general tidiness, re‑determined stock levels, clean clinical equipment).
* Work under direct or indirect supervision of registered practitioners.
Qualifications
* Care certificate or willingness and ability to undertake a care certificate.
* Vigilant, approachable, flexible and keen to learn.
* Understanding of the Trust's values and expectations and presentation in a professional manner.
* Health and Care Visa or Skilled Worker Visa eligibility if required – applicants must check eligibility before applying.
* Experience in outpatient clinical support is desirable.
