EC&I Supervisor Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00 Holiday: 25 days annual leave (free choice) Reports to: Engineering Manager A leading industrial manufacturer is seeking a highly skilled EC&I Supervisor to lead the electrical, controls, and instrumentation function at a busy production facility. This is a key hands-on leadership role involving responsibility for a small multi-skilled team, day-to-day maintenance coordination, and contribution to strategic engineering initiatives. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrical professional looking to take the next step in leadership, with exposure to plant-level strategy, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement. The role also offers potential progression into senior engineering management. Key Responsibilities * Lead, mentor, and manage a team of shift and day electricians, as well as electrical apprentices. * Support mechanical trades during supervisor absences. * Manage weekly timesheets for hourly-paid staff. * Provide guidance and development for electrical apprentices. * Deputise for the Engineering Manager as required. * Oversee and administer electrical, instrumentation, and control work requests through the CMMS (PEMAC). * Collaborate with the Engineering Planner to schedule resources and maintenance tasks. * Share on-call engineering responsibility with senior site engineers. * Maintain critical electrical spares and improve stores organisation. * Chair Level 1 Engineering Meetings and represent the department at higher-level meetings in the absence of the Engineering Manager. * Develop, implement, and manage preventative and condition-based maintenance strategies. * Actively promote and improve site safety and lead by example. * Plan, schedule, and supervise E,C&I shutdown works. * Deliver and manage small-scale engineering improvement projects. * Engage in hands-on electrical work when necessary. Ideal Candidate Profile Qualifications & Experience: * Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ, HNC, or equivalent). * Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an electrical role within a manufacturing or process industry (paper industry background preferred). * Prior supervisory or team leadership experience. * Familiarity with CMMS platforms (PEMAC experience advantageous). * Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques is desirable.
