Band 3 Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator (CAT 1) – ENT, Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery
Part-time: 30 hours per week (4 days a week; shifts between 08:00 and 17:00). This is a permanent, cross-site role based at Townlands Memorial Hospital, Henley-on-Thames and the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. NHS AfC: Band 3.
Main duties and responsibilities
You will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients’ pathway of care. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide support in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly. You will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being accessible, customer-focused and knowledgeable. You will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) describing how the role functions and the timescales to be adhered to.
You will be responsible for helping provide a smooth transition for patients as they move through their treatment pathway. Duties include completing key administrative tasks vital to enabling the department to function safely and to a high standard. You should be flexible and willing to learn new skills. You should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Mathematics and English, with good evidence of computer literacy. You should also have very good communication skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience
* GCSE or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* Computer Literacy Course, e.g. ECDL
* Experience of working in the NHS
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Understanding of patient priorities and performance targets related to appointments and waiting times
Desirable criteria
* Good knowledge of specialty - specifically patient pathways
* Experience of using digital dictation systems

Salary: £24,937 - £26,598 pro-rata per annum (Yearly)
