Salary: £90,868 pro rata £36,347 – 2 days per week

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Specialist Medical Advisor to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.
Following the appointment of the National Clinical Executive Director at the beginning of 2024 and the development of NHS Supply Chain (NHS SC) five year Clinical and Quality of Care Strategy (aligned to the business plan) there is ambition to create a new medical post. The post will be key member of the centralised leadership team in the clinical directorate.
The new role will work in collaboration with the nurses, midwives and allied health professionals already employed by NHS SC and offer leadership and medical expertise across many aspects of the ambitions within the strategy Clinical Team » NHS Supply Chain and consolidate our ambition to have effective clinical leadership across all parts of the organisation. The three ambitions are quality of care (patient safety), building partnerships, and our role in ensuring that health care products and medical devices support population health management and reducing health inequalities in the NHS.
This post within the corporate clinical team will strengthen and complement the multidisciplinary professional workforce across the business providing additional leadership.
Every day you will …
1. Be responsible for providing visible leadership within the directorate and across the business. You will play a key role in bringing the medical voice into the NHS SC clinical community. Working in collaboration with the health care professional leaders to deliver the ambitions of the clinical and quality of care strategy.
2. Work closely with the clinical executive director and director of clinical operations and development to complement the clinical and quality voice and profile.
3. The role will be responsible for building on existing relationships with professional bodies, Royal Colleges and other regulatory and standards organisations e.g. GiRFT. Building partnerships and relationships across the healthcare system. Supporting clinicians toengage with NHS Supply Chain priorities (supporting the NHS to deliver high quality care to patients and their families).
