What skills and experience we're looking for Recent successful teaching experience or a recent qualification (PGCE) with successful teaching practices across KS4 and KS5 Degree in Business Studies/ Economics or related field PGCE in Business Studies Competence in use of ICT Ability to teach Business Studies to GCSE/A level and BTEC National Certificate Interest in Personalised Learning A knowledge of the variety of teaching and learning approaches which can be explored in business A knowledge and understanding of Assessment for Learning Willingness to take and act on advice High expectations of oneself and of students A commitment to and interest in the wellbeing, support and achievement of students A sense of excitement about teaching and working with young people A belief in teamwork and co-operation with adults and students A broad view of the role of a teacher A willingness to challenge oneself to seek continuous improvement To be positive about the need for innovation and change Flexibility, imagination and resilience, reliability and integrity A positive attitude to school Self awareness A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people A willingness to offer something extra to the school and its students Suitability to work with children and young people To safeguard and promote the welfare of children for whom you have responsibility or come into contact with, to include adhering to all specified procedures What the school offers its staff Please see Job Pack Commitment to safeguarding It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in Regulated Activity relevant to children.
