About the Role
The Supply Register is working in partnership with Newcastle College to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher for a fixed-term paternity cover role, starting in May 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-achieving sixth form environment, delivering A Level Psychology to motivated learners. The successful candidate will ensure continuity of high-quality teaching and support students through a key stage of their academic programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and high-quality Psychology lessons in line with the relevant awarding body specification
* Plan and prepare structured lessons and schemes of work to support learner progress.
* Mark assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
* Monitor and track student performance, implementing targeted intervention where required.
* Prepare learners effectively for examinations.
* Uphold high standards of attendance, behaviour and academic achievement.
* Contribute positively to the wider academic team and college community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* A degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
* Experience teaching Psychology (essential). (FE)
* A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed / Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
* A commitment to student achievement and safeguarding.
