Job Description:
Our client, a UK-wide Engineering Consultancy based in Wythenshawe, South Manchester, is actively looking to recruit a Chartered Principal Structural Engineer with at least 10 years' experience in Structural Design to join their team working on a range of Industrial and Rail projects.
The company has offices across England, Scotland, and Wales and is seeking someone to join their Manchester team of 6 staff, working on both new-build and retrofit schemes involving civil infrastructure, fatigue analysis, temporary works, and traditional structural design.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Professional Certification: Hold a recognized professional engineering license (e.g., Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Structural Engineers) or be actively working towards it.
* Professional Experience: At least 10 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering, with a track record of delivering complex projects.
* Structural Design Expertise: Proficiency in structural analysis, design, and detailing across various materials like steel, concrete, and timber.
* Project Management Skills: Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure project success.
* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in software such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE, and AutoCAD.
* Regulatory Compliance: Up-to-date with building codes, regulations, and standards.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
* Leadership Abilities: Capable of mentoring junior engineers and fostering teamwork.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills for identifying challenges and proposing solutions.
* Continuing Education: Committed to professional development and staying informed of industry trends.
The salary range is between £60,000 and £68,000 plus benefits, depending on experience and qualifications.
