The Role
A leading civil engineering main contractor is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Greater London. You’ll take ownership of design packages on major infrastructure projects, provide technical leadership, and play a pivotal role in delivering safe, efficient, and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate design phases, ensuring compliance with standards.
* Produce, review, and approve designs, drawings, and specifications.
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients.
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
* Carry out site inspections and resolve design issues.
* Support project planning, risk management, and value engineering.
* Ensure deliverables are met on time, to budget, and to quality.
About You
* Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline (Master’s desirable).
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it.
* Strong background in civil engineering design, ideally contractor-side.
* Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro (or similar software).
* Strong knowledge of UK codes, standards, and regulations.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
