Job Summary
The SEQF Employment Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals in their employment journey by providing guidance, mentoring, and specialised assistance. This position involves working closely with clients to develop personalised employment plans, offering ongoing support, and facilitating access to resources that enhance employability. Duties
* Mentoring clients through the employment process, offering personalised guidance and encouragement
* Assisting clients in developing CVs, cover letters, and interview preparation strategies
* Providing information on available job opportunities and training programmes
* Utilising Microsoft Office tools to maintain accurate records of client progress and programme activities
* Facilitating communication between clients, employers, and community organisations to promote successful employment placements
* Organising workshops and training sessions focused on skills development and employability enhancement
* Supporting clients in overcoming barriers to employment by connecting them with relevant resources and services
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local labour market trends and employment legislation
* Ensuring all client interactions are conducted professionally with a focus on customer service excellence
Experience
* Proven experience in mentoring or counselling roles, preferably within employment services or community support settings
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
* Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service in diverse environments
* Knowledge of IT systems relevant to case management or employment programmes is desirable
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Experience working with individuals facing employment barriers is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
