Axcis Education is working with a fantastic SEND school on the outskirts of Exeter to find a full-time Communication Support Assistant to start in September. This is a specialist setting for children and young people with a range of complex needs, where communication support plays a vital role in helping students access learning and feel understood. We’re looking for someone with either a Level 2 or 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) or significant experience supporting Deaf individuals in education or care. You’ll be working closely with students who use BSL, Makaton, or other communication systems, many of whom also have additional needs such as autism, learning difficulties, or medical needs. Alongside supporting communication, you'll play an active role in the classroom, helping to manage behaviour and create a calm, safe, and inclusive environment. This is a full-time, term-time role, perfect for someone with a calm and caring approach, strong behaviour management skills, and a real commitment to inclusion.
