An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Systems Implementation Consultant to join a large charitable organisation in Derbyshire on a 9–12 month contract. This is a key role within a wider transformation programme aimed at modernising and upgrading core financial systems and processes.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the end-to-end system implementation journey – from discovery and system selection through to delivery, go-live, and post-implementation support and training.

OPPORTUNITY
As Finance Systems Implementation Consultant, you will lead the full lifecycle of the finance system upgrade, working closely with finance, IT, and operational stakeholders to deliver a fit-for-purpose, future-ready platform.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new finance system – from requirements gathering through to delivery.
* Manage the discovery and system selection process, ensuring alignment with organisational needs and budget.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to define system specifications and integration requirements.
* Oversee data migration, testing, and validation processes.
* Deliver post-implementation training and support to finance users.
* Ensure effective change management, communication, and documentation throughout.
* Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and system usability.
PERSON
We're looking for an experienced finance systems professional with a strong background in system implementation or transformation projects. You'll be confident engaging across teams, translating finance requirements into technical outcomes, and ensuring the successful embedding of new tools and ways of working.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience leading end-to-end finance system implementations.
* Strong understanding of finance processes and workflows.
* Experience in system discovery, selection, testing, and deployment.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to deliver user training and post-implementation support.
* Background in charity, public sector, or complex multi-entity organisations is advantageous.
