Job Description:
If you are an experienced Project Manager, passionate about technology and engineering and would like to work with exciting new applications such as Quantum Computing, then this is the role for you!
We have an opportunity for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join the New Product Introduction team, where you will help to translate the requirements of the market into a viable product. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that will see you planning and managing the development of our products of the future.
The opportunity
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for all aspects of a product lifecycle as defined by the Development Gate Process. This includes initial discussion of the market requirement, evaluation of technology options with the R&D team, the product specification, design, legislative compliance issues, and the transition to manufacture with the assistance of other departmental heads. You will ensure an appropriate product, as defined by a Market Requirement Specification (MRS), is completed on time, on cost, and on quality.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need extensive experience in product or equipment design, ideally within a complex manufacturing environment, along with previous experience of project management. You should have experience managing the full lifecycle of a product from concept design to customer acceptance. Experience working with magnetics, cryogenic systems, and resource management is desirable. Your ability to identify and mitigate risks within a project, along with diligent planning and administration skills, are essential. Passion for technology, understanding of complex scientific instruments, and resilience will contribute to your success. A relevant engineering degree and a project management qualification are also desirable.
Oxford Instruments offers a competitive salary, flexible working hours, a half-day on Fridays, 25 days of annual leave, private healthcare, a share incentive plan, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package. We invest in our employees' career development and strive to create a workplace where you can grow and learn.
