Overview
This full-time fixed-term post is available for 12 months with hybrid working (some time on campus and some from home).
We are looking for a Software Asset Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This is a specialist role that will involve liaising with Senior Management and Technical Teams to ensure the technology and software solutions the University adopts and maintains continue to deliver value and maintain legal compliance.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the University’s software assets and related services, ensuring compliance with licence and contractual conditions, usage optimisation and management of software procurement.
* Track all software and SaaS usage, negotiate vendor contracts, and implement policies to mitigate associated legal and financial risks.
* Provide training, coaching and mentoring to others on specific tasks, offering guidance based on knowledge and experience.
About you / Qualifications
* Good understanding of Software Licensing and Software Asset Management (SAM) for on-premise, Cloud and SaaS environments.
* Working knowledge of SAM and IT Service Desk tools within an ITIL-based IT operations environment.
* Proven experience in managing relationships within teams and across functions, with the ability to break down barriers and build beneficial working relationships.
