Summary

We are an innovative and market leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.

We operate a Hybrid working policy so you will be able to flex between working in the office and your home location to carry out this role but during your initial training period the need to be in office with other team members will be essential. This role will require travel to client offices including occasional overnight stays. While this position is full-time, we are open to discussing flexible working patterns that accommodate individual needs.

Reports To: Senior Account Manager

Department: Consultancy

Base pay range is provided by ESG; your actual pay will be based on skills and experience.


Position Responsibilities

* The main duties (but not limited to): Utilising detailed knowledge of the energy retail industry, the Associate Consultant will take a strategic role in delivering and developing services within ESG's Consultancy business, including:
* Service Values: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of ESGs Consulting services; core deliverables and the values/benefits provided to energy suppliers. Develop understanding of the root cause behind performance improvements offered and the data in which anomalies can be identified.
* Workstream Ownership: Add value to client projects through data analysis and case management. Contribute to identifying, testing and productising new analytical initiatives. Take ownership of end-to-end processes of a workstream on a client project.
* Data Management and Reporting: Utilise MS SQL and Power BI to unlock benefit from energy data by delivering and interpreting data outputs and visualisations. Collaborate with ESG internal teams to evolve service offerings with new reporting insights.
* Interpersonal: Demonstrate first-class communication skills and the ability to engage with clients, internal colleagues, and industry peers. Discuss industry matters and promote company services and values with confidence.
* Testing: Understand application functionality and services offered by ESG Consulting; test software outputs to determine if solutions meet requirements.
* Developing Performance: Demonstrate core consultancy qualities such as professionalism, time management, teamwork, communication, industry knowledge, and attention to detail.


About You

You Must Have

* Numerate with analytical capabilities. Highly desirable: MS Office, including SQL and Power BI.
* Developing understanding of industry charging and settlements processes, the data underlying them, and how they interact.
* Good written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
* Developing technical skills with the Microsoft tech stack; ability to analyse large datasets and present findings clearly.
* Ability to follow direction and deliver accurate results; accurate and timely reporting within a team.
* Flexibility to travel throughout the UK.

* Able and willing to travel to ESG head office (Chorley) and client sites around the UK with occasional overnight stays.
