The Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics Research Associate is responsible for carrying out various well-defined routine DMPK in vitro and/or in vivo studies and participating in some independent research activities, under supervision of a senior scientist or manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Participates in planning of one or more types of DMPK experiments and performs experiments with limited supervision and responsible follow-up
* Conducts routine in vitro and/or in vivo DMPK experiments following established methodology and procedures with minimal supervision
* Performs initial analysis of routine experimental data and interprets immediate experimental outcomes and/or conclusions within established protocols
* Identifies routine technical problems and performs routine instrument maintenance
* May be expected to present at internal group research meetings
* Follows procedures from the literature, adapting them as necessary with oversight
Knowledge and Skills:
* Demonstrates reliable technical skills in one or more DMPK routine assays
* Exhibits reliable ability to independently interpret routine, uncomplicated data
* Selects approach to optimize some routine DMPK experimental procedures
* Displays emerging ability to modify experimental designs and protocols to enable experimental and/or methodological improvement
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and change priorities at short notice
* Ability to present results in both oral and written reports
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
