Role summary
We are looking for a committed and compassionate Behaviour Support Officer to join our dedicated team in a busy secondary school in Preston. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives by supporting their behaviour, wellbeing, and personal development. Starting from the 5th of January, you will play a vital role in helping create a calm and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and students to provide targeted behaviour support and intervention.
* Help manage challenging behaviour, encourage positive attitudes, and assist students in developing the skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
* Contribute to promoting a safe and inclusive school culture, fostering respect and resilience among students.
Qualifications and attributes
* The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and empathetic in difficult situations.
* You should be a team player who is proactive, patient, and committed to supporting the holistic development of all students.
* A background in behaviour management, pastoral care, or education support is highly desirable, but not essential if you have a strong willingness to learn and grow in this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
