We are looking for an individual who is a good communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Knowledge of the workings of General Practice and SystmOne clinical system would be a distinct advantage.
Main duties of the job
The primary responsibility is to provide a high quality service to our patients.
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
The ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm is essential, whilst also using your own judgement, resourcefulness and common sense.
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary healthcare team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.

We are a large, busy practice with 18,700 patients. We have 10 GPs, 4 Nurse Practitioners, a Practice Pharmacist, 5 Practice Nurses, 4 HCAs, a team of PCN employed staff, and a superb group ofhighly committed and enthusiastic administrative and reception staff.

Job responsibilities
* Answerthe telephone as a priority
* Book/cancelappointments
* Takemessages accurately and pass on in a timely manner
* Deal withgeneral enquiries and complaints
* Registernew patients and temporary residents and make up paper records
* Greetand direct patients and visitors
* Organisetranslators
* Respondto the needs of GPs and Nurses to enable efficient clinics
* Inputand extract information from the Practice computer system
* Updatethe clinical system with information eg smoking, ethnicity
* Actionchange of address notification
* Anyother filing, record keeping and distribution of documents as appropriate
* Effectivelyliaise with Practice, Primary Care Organisations, patients and otherexternal organisations to assist promptly with the resolution andadministration of queries
* Fullyutilise SystmOne and other IT systems
* Monitorand check tasks and work flows
* Communicateeffectively with the reception team to ensure policies and procedures arekept up to date
* Keepdirectories and data bases up to date to ensure an efficient work flow
* Demonstrateduties to new or less experienced staff
* Resolvejob related issues, including patient documentation and help resolve minorproblems

* Education to GCSE level or equivalent
