We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join the team at HMP Altcourse, a busy Category B male prison in Fazakerley, Liverpool. HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in England, accommodating approximately 1,160 adult males with an average stay of 10 weeks. Practice Plus Group provides primary care and substance misuse services across eight wings, clinic areas, inpatient facilities, and reception services.
About the Role
This role is initially offered on a 12 month fixed term contract. Hours: Full Time / 37.5 per week. Shifts are Monday - Friday, 07:00 – 15:00 / 08:00 – 16:00. Salary: £25,821 – £28,574 per annum.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
* Act as the first point of contact for the healthcare team, speaking to hospitals, GP surgeries, solicitors, and arranging external appointments, requesting discharge summaries and patient summaries.
* Work closely with the wider prison team to arrange hospital appointments, escorts, and bed watch, and ensure that prison officers have up‑to‑date clinic lists.
* Process E‑Referrals.
* Update trackers, systems, and spreadsheets for hospital appointments, admissions, consent forms, etc.
* Carry out admin tasks for Early Days in Custody (EDIC), including joining the daily call.
* General admin duties such as scanning, post, minute‑taking and stock check.

What we’ll look for in you
* Extensive administration experience, ideally within a healthcare or medical setting such as hospitals or GP surgery.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with lots of phone‑based work.
* Healthcare knowledge and experience is a bonus, as is knowledge of QAF and clinical coding.
* Knowledge of SystmOne is beneficial.
* Confidence using data and maintaining spreadsheets; Excel skills are essential.
