20 hours per week. 1 weekend on and 1 off on a 2 week rota basis.

We can be flexible with shift times: 8.30am to 1.30pm or 9am to 2pm

Example rota (not set as need to cover hols & sickness)

Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun - Week 1

Tues, Wed, Thu, fri - Week 2

The Laundry Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents living with dementia. You will ensure all laundry is processed to a high standard, handled with dignity, and returned promptly, helping residents feel at home and well cared for.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute residents’ personal clothing, bedding, and towels in line with infection‑control procedures.
2. Label and organise residents’ garments to prevent loss and ensure items are returned to the correct person.
3. Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any faults promptly.
4. Follow infection prevention and control guidelines, including correct handling of soiled or contaminated items.
5. Maintain cleanliness of the laundry room, machines, and storage areas.

Skills & Experience:

6. Experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or care‑home environment is helpful but not essential.
7. Understanding of infection control, safe manual handling, and health & safety procedures
8. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
9. Good communication skills and a compassionate, resident‑focused approach.
10. Patience and empathy when supporting individuals living with dementia.
