The Role
The job:We`re looking for a new Payroll Assistant to join our Payroll team in Loudwater, Buckinghamshire. This is a part-time opportunity, covering 18 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate administration and processing of the monthly payroll for over 2,200 Dreams colleagues.You will be tasked with developing and managing payroll processes, helping support a continuous improvement culture.You will work collaboratively with your team, championing a team spirit, which will contribute to delivering an efficient and excellent payroll service to our colleagues.Ready to skip the snooze button and get stuck in? * Process the monthly variable pay, overtime and bonus payments and manage the reporting and input of absence through our T&A system.
* Ensure all payroll and ad-hoc queries are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Calculate statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP and ShPP.
* Perform a thorough check of all our new starters in the payroll and HR systems, collaborating with the HR Admin team for any discrepancies in the Payroll/HR data exchange.
* Process monthly contractual and colleague personal details changes.
* Administer P45 & HMRC starter checklist forms.
* Monthly holiday top up calculations for compulsory overtime and commission payments.
* Calculate and raise manual BACS payments.
* Preparation of final payslips and P45`s for leavers.
* Complete earning assessment forms, jury, and tenancy reference requests.
* Reconciliation of variable pay input prior to payroll sign off.
* Work in collaboration with the rest of your team, sharing your ideas and suggestions.
The Person
This is the type of person we`re dreaming of:
* Working knowledge of UK tax and NI calculations, statutory payments, pension, and year end reporting
* Ability to understand and explain technical payroll and pension queries.
* Ability to manually calculate pro-rata payments such as holiday pay, hourly/daily rates of pay etc.
* Understanding payroll and HR systems processes
* Works discreetly to resolve matters sensitively, with concerns escalated appropriately.
* Ability and confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business.
