As a Field Service Electrician, you will primarily be based at the HPC New Build Project in Somerset, UK, working as part of a team on the world's largest Steam Turbine New Build. The project involves installation of 2 x 1750 MW Arabelle Steam Turbines & Generators, offering opportunities to develop new skills and advance your career. There may also be opportunities to travel within the UK and internationally to support installation, maintenance, and inspection activities on power units ranging from 2MW to 2000MW.

The role requires the ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, technical and quality instructions, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of Steam Turbines and Generator Technology is preferred, but experience in the Power Industry or large-scale construction projects will also be considered.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
1. Follow company policies, procedures, and complete necessary documentation.
2. Prioritize safety in all activities, actively participating in EHS programs.
3. Support installation, preventative, and corrective maintenance on customer equipment.
4. Identify issues with customer equipment.
5. Interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
6. Maintain communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and issue resolution.
7. Work collaboratively within the local team to deliver efficient service.
8. Develop strong customer relationships and serve as a liaison between the customer and the company.
9. Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
10. Apply mechanical and electrical measurement techniques with high precision.
11. Follow Foreign Material Exclusion rules.
12. Contribute to work planning, questioning, and team briefings.
13. Maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical, control, and instrumentation equipment.
14. Maximize equipment availability and reliability.
15. Perform breakdown and preventative maintenance as per OEM and quality standards.
16. Supervise support contractors during peak periods, ensuring safety and compliance.
17. Maintain and calibrate DCS, PLCs, and measurement devices.
18. Use CMMS for maintenance documentation.
19. Repair heavy electrical equipment such as HV generators, switchgear, transformers, etc.
20. Work to maximize plant reliability and safety.
21. Provide cover for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
22. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Relevant technical qualifications such as HNC/NVQ/C&G/COMPEX in electrical engineering, or a recognized apprenticeship.
2. Experience with DCS systems, PLCs, instrumentation, and LV electrical equipment.
3. Hands-on experience in a medium to heavy industrial environment, preferably in power or large-scale construction projects.
4. Knowledge of large rotating and static machinery is advantageous.
5. Understanding of electrical systems and hazards.
6. Willingness to travel and undertake a long-term secondment to Hinkley Point C.
7. Basic IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
8. Fluent in English.
