Estimating Administrator
Location: Dawlish
Salary: £31,500 per annum
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract (3–5 Months)
About the Role
We are working with a specialist contractor to recruit an organised and proactive Estimating Administrator to join their busy preconstruction team based in Dawlish.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Administrator, Coordinator, or Construction Administrator to support a fast-paced estimating department involved in technically complex infrastructure and engineering projects across the UK.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Estimating, the Estimating Administrator will provide essential administrative and coordination support to the estimating and preconstruction teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain and track live tender opportunities across the estimating department
2. Monitor tender deadlines and ensure submission requirements are communicated effectively
3. Support the coordination of multiple active tenders simultaneously
4. Assist with the preparation and submission of tender documentation
5. Compile bid packs and gather supporting information from internal teams and external stakeholders
6. Ensure tender submissions are accurate, compliant, and complete prior to review
7. Manage the estimating inbox and coordinate incoming enquiries and tender invitations
8. Prioritise and allocate requests appropriately alongside the Head of Estimating
9. Maintain structured electronic filing systems and document management processes
10. Track supplier data, tender outcomes, and cost information for benchmarking and future reference
11. Support data input, cost tracking, and spreadsheet management using Excel
12. Assist with maintaining pricing trackers, benchmarking spreadsheets, and reporting tools
13. Provide day-to-day administrative support to the estimating team
14. Schedule meetings, prepare documents, and track actions and deadlines
15. Assist with reporting on tender activity and pipeline status
16. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating function
Essential Skills & Experience
17. Previous experience within an administrative, coordination, or support role
18. Strong Excel skills with confidence managing structured data and spreadsheets
19. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
20. High attention to detail and accuracy
21. Strong written and verbal communication skills
22. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Desirable Experience
23. Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, or civil engineering environments
24. Exposure to tendering, estimating, or preconstruction teams advantageous
25. Experience managing electronic document control systems or bid documentation
