SEMH Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

We’re working with a supportive SEN school in Hartlepool who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with SEMH needs. This is a full-time role where relationships matter, patience is everything, and the small wins mean the world.
What your day will look like:
1. Providing calm, consistent 1:1 support to help a pupil feel safe, understood, and ready to learn
2. Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and positive behaviour
3. Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to keep approaches joined-up
4. Being that trusted adult who shows up, even on the tricky days
This role could be perfect for you if:
5. You’ve got experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour
6. You’re calm under pressure and great at building trust
7. You understand that behaviour is communication

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
