We want Kirklees to be a place which combines a strong and sustainable economy with a great quality of life; a place where people live in cohesive communities, feel safe and protected from harm; and children have the best start in life. There is a renewed energy and determination to tackle domestic abuse, which is increasingly under the spotlight and attracting investment at a local, regional and national level. This is an exciting role to support the Domestic Abuse Strategic Partnership to expand our current provision and to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and partners to be innovative in how we respond to domestic abuse.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to support us in mapping our provision and identifying areas where we can strengthen our response; ensuring that we meet the requirements of statutory duties in relation to domestic abuse; establishing clear reporting arrangements with our partners; and delivering regular returns for the benefit of our stakeholders (including central government). The postholder must be able to demonstrate the skills to work effectively with a wide range of partners from the statutory and voluntary sectors; the ability to collate information from a range of sources, draw conclusions and clearly present proposals at a strategic level; be creative and positive in their approach to problem solving; and demonstrate empathy for individuals that are affected by domestic abuse.
In this role you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and work on exciting new projects with a range of colleagues within Communities, Housing, Adults and Children’s Services and partner agencies, which will include delivering training as well as supporting with sharing resources to improve our partners understanding of Domestic Abuse and embedding learning from Domestic Homicide Reviews.
Tackling domestic abuse is a key priority for Kirklees and as such, you will be line managed by the Service Manager for Domestic Abuse & Safeguarding Partnerships and be working within a supportive, committed team who are passionate about achieving the best outcomes for those who have experienced domestic abuse.
