The exciting role will be to ensure theoptimumquality of water is produced from our water treatment works and risks to this are mitigated.Focusing on quality source to source, through a mixture of onsite work and using data, you will continually be looking at getting theoptimumquality of wholesome water out for our customers.
Working alongside Operational colleagues, you will provide scientific understanding and effectively challengeour processes to safely produce wholesome water.During reactive events, you will use your scientific understanding and appreciation of actions tosuccessfully and safely navigateincidents.
Key responsibilities
1. Regular review of water quality standards across the area to support excellent water quality from treatment works
2. Proactive interventionswill include onsite interaction where early warning process performance deteriorations occur,andregular data interrogationtoidentifyprocess performance deteriorations
3. Identifyand investigate water quality risks from source to tap ensuringappropriate mitigationis in place including abstraction management
4. Deliver and continually improve water quality risk assessmentsUndertake comprehensive onsite water quality investigationsfollowing proactive or preventative triggers and ensure water quality action plans are prepared asrequired
5. Deliver the company’s Drinking Water Safety Planning approach
6. Be the key point of contact for local operations teams for water quality risk assessment
7. Lead the development ofshort- and medium-termstrategies to reduce risks to water quality
8. Be part of an out of hours standby process support for the business across the region
9. Providescientific advice on Regulation 31

What does it take to be successful?
20. Educated to degree or postgraduate level in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent qualification or experience
21. Able to critically evaluate information to take tactical action
22. Excellent data interpretation skills
23. Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with operational colleagues
24. Able to influence those around youin making positive decisions to protect wholesomeness of our water
