The Position – 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Qualiteach are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with autism who is non-verbal. The role involves providing consistent, compassionate support to enable access to learning, communication and social interaction throughout the school day. You must be confident using visual supports, structured routines and sensory strategies, and able to work calmly under pressure. Experience supporting pupils with autism is essential. Knowledge or experience of Makaton would be highly desirable. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement personalised targets and support independence, wellbeing and progress for the successful candidate.
The School – 1:1 Teaching Assistant
The school is a four form entry Primary school which is based across two sites. The school was rated as “Good” by Ofsted and the ideal candidate must be flexible with working in different year groups, however the role is in Year 5.
