Business Development Manager - Construction & Infrastructure Projects
Competitive salary + quarterly bonus + car or £6,850 car allowance
Hybrid role, flexible location within the Avon/Gloucestershire/Wiltshire/Berkshire/Oxfordshire areas, or nearby.
You'll manage, develop, and grow an agreed portfolio of Major Construction & Infrastructure Projects. The role requires a strategic, commercial, and forward-thinking approach to Project Management that will deliver profitable revenue growth with the Main Contractor and their supply chain.
Key tasks:
* Deliver revenue and share of wallet targets for each project.
* Identify and research significant “Major Projects” through Market Intelligence (including ABI, customer pipelines, internal knowledge sharing). Create a pipeline of opportunities and agree on delivery strategies with NWP stakeholders.
* Create value-adding “Managed Service” partnerships providing market-leading solutions to Strategic Clients across all aspects of Major Projects.
* Maintain a pipeline of hire and training opportunities per project and oversee their conversion with the relevant NWP account manager.
* Establish strategic partnerships with “Safety & Sustainability” driven clients offering long-term opportunities.
* Ensure each project has a contact plan with key stakeholders, recorded in Salesforce. Regularly visit existing customers to strengthen relationships, prevent competitor gains, and seek repeat business.
* Resolve customer issues with relevant NWP stakeholders, using Net Promoter Score (NPS) data and customer feedback to improve satisfaction.
* Implement effective account management, aligning key stakeholders from NWP with those of the Customer and Project Team.
* Continuously improve NWP’s service offering, demonstrating products and services to Project Stakeholders.
* Research prospects and generate leads through cold calling, networking, project interaction, and social media research.
About you:
* Proven track record of strategic sales in the construction rental/hire sector.
* Strong analytical skills to assess and interpret customer business data, confident in presenting operational/service delivery KPIs.
* Financially and commercially savvy, with the ability to develop proposals and strategies that secure profitable business.
* Results-driven, responsive, passionate, and persistent.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
