Your new role
In this role as an Electrician, you’ll work on a wide range of specialized electrical systems used throughout the traffic industry. Responsibilities include installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical distribution systems, lighting controls, streetlighting, traffic controllers, pump stations, conduits, fibre optics, CCTV, and related systems.
You’ll operate bucket trucks and lifts, collaborate with civil subtrades, mentor apprentices, coordinate materials,plete safety paperwork, and participate in a rotating after‑hours emergency support schedule.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Journeyman Electrician certification with industrial or traffic‑industry experience (FSR B is an asset)
2. Class 5 Drivers' Licence with a clean abstract (airbrake endorsement is an asset)
3. Experience working on three‑phase systems (600/347V or 480V) and at heights
4. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
5. Experience with streetlighting, traffic signals, PLCs, fibre optics, cameras, routers, and other data‑networking equipment
6. Knowledge of underground civil work such as trenching, conduit installation, and concrete work
7. Assets such as IMSA Traffic Signal Technician certification, TCP certification, fall protection, and aerial lift training (or willingness to obtain)
8. Ability to work day or night shifts, and occasional out‑of‑town assignments
9. Strongputer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
10. A motivated, self‑directed approach with the ability to work under minimal supervision
