We are looking for a talented Nursery Cook who is passionate and dedicated to providing fresh, high-quality meals for young children up to 5 years at our brand-new nursery, opening in January 2026 at Aire Park – Leeds' exciting new South Bank development.
This nursery will be a flagship setting for our family-run childcare company, which has been delivering outstanding early years care for over 25 years. We're now looking to build a passionate, experienced team to help us bring this new setting to life.
You will be running the bright nursery kitchen and while we have a menu to follow, you can make the role your own. Bring your ideas to the table
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
* Plan and organise menus that cater to dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and storage areas.
* Collaborate with staff to ensure timely meal service and address any dietary concerns.
* Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
* Provide a safe and welcoming environment for children during meal times.

Qualifications
* Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a nursery or similar environment
* Strong culinary skills with a focus on meal preparation and food safety
* Previous kitchen experience, preferably in catering or restaurant settings
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
* Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented kitchen environment
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in meal planning and serving
