Salary Scale: £90 - 100 a day
Contract Type: Temp – Perm and D2D
We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEMH/SLD provision in Hinckley. As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to use restorative practices to support students in their social and emotional development.
We believe that empathy is crucial when working with young people, and we encourage staff to build strong relationships from the start. Your role will focus on establishing these relationships while demonstrating academic potential and social maturity.

About the role:
* Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN needs, including SLD and PMLD.
* Implementing structures to manage behaviour proactively and engagingly.
* Acting as a positive role model and providing nurture support.
* Delivering numeracy and literacy booster sessions outside the classroom.
* De-escalating volatile situations.
* Supporting students across primary ages, from 11 to 19 years old.
* Personal care is mandatory in this role.
* Demonstrating resilience and adaptability to handle emotional and behavioural challenges.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour in educational or support settings. Personal experience with challenging behaviour, mental health, SLD, PMLD, and Autism is encouraged.
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check – must be on the update service. Assistance with DBS is available if needed.
* Two references are required to clear your file with GSL.
* Teaching Assistant – Level 2 Qualification or equivalent.
