Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Reed Education are working with a specialist independent school that supports children and young people aged 7-19 with Autism and associated social, communication and sensory needs. The school offers provision from Key Stage 2 through to Post-16 and provides an individualised, therapeutic environment for pupils with complex needs.
The school are seeking a committed and experienced Occupational Therapist to join the schools multi-disciplinary therapy team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development, independence and wellbeing of students across the school.
Main Purpose of the Role
* To work as a senior/specialist Occupational Therapist as part of the therapy team.
* To provide high-quality assessment, intervention and treatment planning for students with a range of complex needs including Autism, sensory processing difficulties, SEMH needs and ADHD.
* To offer advice, guidance and training to staff, parents and external professionals.
* To contribute to the ongoing development and integration of Occupational Therapy within the school.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Manage an independent caseload of students with complex and varied needs.
* Carry out detailed Occupational Therapy assessments and develop individualised therapy plans in line with EHCP requirements.
* Deliver direct interventions and create structured programmes for implementation by school staff.
* Assess and recommend specialist equipment where required.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with HCPC and professional standards.
* Work collaboratively with the SENCO, teaching staff, therapists and external agencies.
* Lead on training and support for school staff in relation to sensory needs, emotional regulation and functional skills.
* Review and contribute to the development of therapy resources and approaches within the school.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Knowledge
* Understanding of Occupational Therapy practice relating to Autism, sensory integration and SEMH.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and relevant legislative frameworks.
* Awareness of multi-agency working across education, health and social care.
Experience
* Experience working as an Occupational Therapist with children or young adults with ASD, ADHD, sensory needs and SEMH difficulties.
* Experience delivering structured programmes such as Zones of Regulation (desirable).
* Experience working within a school or similar specialist environment (desirable).
Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
