We’re seeking an experienced Senior Accountancy Technician to provide high-quality financial support across a range of services. You’ll work closely with managers, lead on budgets and reporting, and help ensure resources are managed effectively and in line with statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities
* Lead on capital and revenue budgeting, ensuring compliance with financial regulations
* Provide clear financial analysis and professional advice to operational and senior managers
* Prepare financial data and reports to support informed decision-making
* Maintain and develop financial and accounting systems, including final accounts and statutory returns
* Monitor performance against budgets and targets, supporting timely corrective action
* Build effective working relationships with schools, clients, suppliers and partners
* Ensure grant claims, returns and income are accurate and submitted on time
* Supervise and develop Accounting Technicians and finance trainees
About you
* AAT qualified (or working towards), or degree-qualified in a relevant discipline
* Post-qualification experience in a finance or accounting environment
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience supporting an accounting system
* Good understanding of accounting standards, statutory regulations and audit principles
* Confident analysing and presenting financial information clearly
* Able to advise, influence and build trust with senior stakeholders
* Experience of supervising or coaching staff
* Highly organised, accurate and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Working arrangements
* Based in Crewe, Cheshire
* Regular office attendance 2–3 times per month, as determined by business need
* Daily office attendance for the first 4–8 weeks for training and onboarding
