Teaching Assistant – Farnborough
Prospero Teaching is looking for a friendly and dependable Teaching Assistant to support pupils in schools in the Farnborough area. This long‑term role involves assisting teachers during lessons, helping pupils stay focused and confident, and providing additional support where it’s needed most.
You will play an important role in the classroom by supporting learning activities, working with small groups, and offering 1:1 assistance to pupils who benefit from extra guidance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants a rewarding role within education.
The position suits candidates with experience in childcare, youth work, support roles, schools, or graduates who are exploring careers in teaching, psychology, or child development.
The Role:
1. Support teachers during lessons across a range of subjects
2. Work with pupils 1:1 and in small groups where required
3. Help students remain engaged, organised, and confident in lessons
4. Assist with classroom routines, learning activities, and resources
5. Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and participation
6. Support pupils with transitions and daily structure
7. Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Ideal Candidate:
8. Experience working with children or young people
9. Positive, patient, and confident in a classroom setting
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. Adaptable and able to support different age groups
12. Reliable and enthusiastic about supporting learning
13. Graduates in psychology, education, or child‑related subjects encouraged
Contract Details:
14. Position: Teaching Assistant
15. Location: Farnborough
16. Start Date: ASAP
17. Hours: Full‑time, term‑time
18. Pay Rate: £ – £ per hour
19. Contract: Long‑term
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
20. Experience with children desirable
21. SEN experience beneficial but not essential
22. Safeguarding training can be provided
Eligibility:
23. Right to work in the UK
24. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
25. Two relevant references
