We are looking to recruit an AV Technician to join our team based in London.
You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,500 per annum.

Purpose of the AV Technician role:
The Royal Air Force Museum seeks an Audio Visual Technician experienced in Stage Lighting and Rigging to support our in-house equipment for the Commercial and Public Events programs, working alongside the Event Technician.
As an AV Technician, your primary focus will be supporting events by managing lighting equipment in the Museum’s event spaces, including a 220-seat lecture theatre, the iconic Lancaster bomber, and the Sunderland Flying Boat. While lighting will be your main focus, candidates with some Sound and Video experience will be preferred, enabling you to independently manage and run events when the Event Technician is unavailable.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting and maintaining the Museum’s AV and IT systems, including lighting systems, rigging, and trusses
* Providing 1st and 2nd line technical support for AV/digital interactive equipment
* Monitoring gallery-based interactives
* Supporting public and corporate events, including outside of regular hours
* Undertaking infrastructure repairs, installation, and termination (CAT 5/6, Fibre, IP Telephony, electrical)
* Supporting AV aspects of museum simulators
* Installing new AV/digital interactive equipment, maintaining existing hardware, and recommending upgrades or replacements
* Monitoring AV systems remotely and managing support tickets related to AV issues
Qualifications and experience we're looking for:
* Experience working within AV, especially event lighting
* Experience with Rigging (both permanent and temporary)
* Enthusiasm and a positive approach in interactions and teamwork
* Respect for diverse views and ways of working
* Ability to evaluate problems and provide advice based on standard practices
* Capability to handle unfamiliar situations effectively and seek guidance when needed
* Proactive in contributing new ideas and adapting to change
