Vickerstock are working in partnership with an international manufacturing & engineering business with a strong market presence here in Northern Ireland. Our client are looking for a Buyer to join their growing supply chain team to report directly to the Purchasing Manager. As the Buyer, you will procure raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies in line with production schedules and business requirements while collaborating closely with production to ensure manufacturing resources are utilised efficiently and to their full capacity. Duties Take ownership of purchasing activities for a designated production area, while providing support to other areas as required. Purchase consumables, non-production materials, supplies, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner. Manage and reschedule open purchase orders to meet changing operational requirements. Expedite supplier orders to ensure on-time delivery and minimise production disruptions. Negotiate and secure competitive pricing for purchased materials, contributing to cost-saving and expense-reduction objectives while maintaining quality standards. Monitor supplier performance against key metrics and implement improvement actions where necessary. Manage the Kanban replenishment system for the designated production area. Maintain accurate purchasing records and provide administrative support and reporting as required. Communicate forecasts and demand requirements to suppliers to support effective supply planning. Review and approve supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely processing. Liaise with suppliers regarding specification updates, engineering changes, and Bill of Material (BOM) amendments. Criteria: 2 year's experience in a similar purchasing or supply chain environment Ideally have experience in manufacturing/engineering setting.
