Plumbing/Heating Engineer Role
The purpose of the proposed role will be to provide an outstanding service to our tenants ensuring the delivery of a high-quality maintenance service across all our schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support and maintain our responsive repairs service by carrying out a range of plumbing and heating repairs (oil only) to our properties
2. Carry out void property works ensuring all work is undertaken within stipulated timeframes
3. Carry out oil servicing as required
4. Itemise the work to be carried out
5. Carry out work to the high-quality standards that the Employer expects
Health & Safety:
6. Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times
7. Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately
8. Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed and followed
9. Observe & follow all manual handling practices
The successful candidate should:
10. Hold a relevant Level 3 plumbing qualification and be OFTEC Registered
11. Hold a Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training or willing to achieve this within first 2 months of employment
12. Have 3 years post qualification experience in plumbing and heating industry
13. Hold a Full UK Driving License
14. Be capable of working on own initiative
15. Have an ability to work methodically and with attention to detail
16. Possess good communication and organisational skills
17. Have a good timekeeping and attendance record
18. Have the ability to work with a wide range of people
19. Be a good team player
20. Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions
21. Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks
22. Be reliable & committed
23. Have ability to work to deadlines
24. Have ability to take on new skills
25. Have an ability to work from a PDA (personal digital assistant)
26. Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques
27. Ensure van and keys (including those for properties) are kept securely and ensuring cleaning and care of the van, tools and equipment.
28. Ensure all equipment is maintained and in clean, working order and reporting any faults to the Property Services Officer
29. Be willing to assist external response maintenance contractors to carry out their work efficiently by giving access and guiding them to areas of work as required
