Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our dynamic agile team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test automation, particularly with Cypress, and a deep understanding of both front-end and backend testing. The individual will have recent experience working within agile / scrum teams. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our web application through comprehensive automated testing. This role requires you to hold active SC Clearance.
Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress for both front-end and backend APIs.
* Perform API testing using Postman and Rest-Assured to validate RESTful web services.
* Identify, document, and track defects and issues, ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.
* Continuously improve and optimize the test automation framework and processes.
* Perform code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality code standards.
* Monitor test execution within the pipeline and address any failures.
* Implement monitoring and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Kibana, and K9s to track application performance and detect issues.
* Perform database validation and queries using PostgreSQL to ensure data integrity.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
* Communicate test results and progress effectively to the team.
Qualifications
* Analysis of epic, story and acceptance criteria information (requirements, design specification) to define and design test scenarios and cases.
* Running and participating in three amigo sessions to discuss test scenarios/cases, identify test approaches to ensure the ACs are met and call out any risks.
* Active involvement in test planning and execution within agile/scrum environments.
