Key Roles and Responsibilities as a Shift Supervisor

* Prior to each service commencing, carry out assessments with customers (and/or their chosen representatives) to identify their needs, goals, and conduct a risk assessment.
* Create and agree on a written, tailored plan of care and support that respects the customer’s wishes, promotes dignity and privacy, and includes appropriate risk control measures. Keep care and support plans up to date.
* Provide customers and their representatives with clear information about the service, including expectations and how to raise concerns.
* Ensure all customer and family information is kept secure and confidential, sharing only when necessary to protect the customer’s interests.
* Conduct regular reviews with customers in line with the Bluebird Care Model.


Personal Qualities and Requirements

* Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support, and respectful of diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
* Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to seek guidance when needed.
* Reliable with excellent timekeeping skills.
* Full and valid UK driving license and use of own car with business insurance.
* Good understanding of the needs of people requiring home care and principles of good care practice.
* Relevant social care qualification or willingness to work towards it.
* Understanding of confidentiality, health and safety, and safeguarding policies.
* Experience in care services, with the ability to write clear risk assessments and care/support plans.
* Good ICT skills and fluency in English.
