Nursery Practitioner, Band 2, based at Sutton, Surrey. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to care for the children of staff at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. We require a reliable, flexible member of the team showing initiative and commitment.
Main duties of the job
An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form will be essential. Applicants must have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education and level A-C in GCSE English. In addition, you should have experience of working effectively with a staff team in full day care.

The role of the Nursery assistant is to work as part of a team providing a safe, welcoming and warm environment for the group care of babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Essential criteria
1. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare & Education
2. GCSE Level A-C English.
Desirable criteria
3. Safeguarding Children training.
4. Early years Foundation Stage training
5. First Aid certificate.
6. Working towards a higher level qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Experience of working with children in full day care
8. Experience of working with babies to five years
9. Experience of working with a team
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
Essential criteria
10. An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form will be essential
11. Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
12. An understanding of child development, children’s needs and behaviour in children under five.

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
