Residential Support Worker Location: Abingdon Shifts: Day and Night Shifts Available, full and part time hours available Pay: £14.70 – £15.30 per hour Make a Real Difference in the Lives of Young People Are you someone who genuinely cares about helping children and young people with learning differences and autism thrive? Do you have the empathy, dedication, and resilience to support them in achieving their full potential? If so, we’d love to welcome you to our team as a Residential Support Worker. About the Role You’ll play a vital part in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in residential settings across Abingdon. Every day, you’ll help create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where each individual is encouraged to grow in confidence and independence. What You’ll Be Doing • Offering hands-on support with daily routines, personal care, and activities. • Encouraging life skills and promoting independence tailored to each young person’s needs. • Working closely with a dedicated team to maintain a warm, structured, and nurturing environment. • Following personalised care plans and safeguarding procedures. • Keeping clear, accurate records to support each individual’s progress and safety. What We’re Looking For • Experience supporting children or young people with learning differences and autism is a bonus—but not essential. • A calm, compassionate, and reliable approach. • Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including days and nights. • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset. • A current DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one). • A genuine passion for supporting others. What We Offer • Flexible, temporary shifts to suit your schedule. • Competitive rates of pay. • A meaningful role where your work truly matters. • Ongoing training and development. • A welcoming, supportive team environment. If you’re ready to make a positive impact and help young people lead fuller, more independent lives, we’d love to hear from you. Due to the nature of this role, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
