Prior local government experience is helpful but not essential; however, you have a keen interest in enhancing the quality of life and sustainability of the borough through innovative legal solutions. What the Job Involves As a Principal Lawyer, you will act as a member of the Legal Management Team, overseeing a specific legal area and handling interim responsibilities. You will provide expert legal advice and high-quality services to the Council, manage an in-house legal team, and control budgets. The role also involves relationship management with various stakeholders, acting as a Deputy Monitoring Officer when required, and assisting in departmental planning and resource management. Youll contribute to effective policy development and business partner management, ensuring the Council receives timely and effective legal support.
