An opportunity has arisen to join our Image Process and AI Engineering team with.in the Systems Engineering group, working on the research, design and development of innovative technical solutions that meet customer requirements and business needs.
The role will involve leading the development of models of launcher and DEW (sub)systems throughout the product lifecycle for:
1. Solution concepting
2. Subsystem trade studies
3. Platform-related AI/ML development and implementation
4. Performance prediction and trials analysis
The successful candidate will be expected to work in the image process and AI model development activities for a set of products or solutions, alongside developing and mentoring other team members. They will have significant specialist knowledge in AI/ML techniques and/or DEW systems, alongside knowledge of the other areas below:
5. Matlab/Mathworks toolset
6. Python and AI/ML libraries, e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow
7. Object Detection, Tracking and Classification
8. Moving platform dynamics
9. Control and stabilisation
10. Remote sensors and data latency
11. Network communications
12. Algorithm implementation
13. Real time simulation
Skills, qualifications or experience:
14. A relevant degree in an engineering discipline, or significant commensurate experience
15. Experience of development and validation of AI/ML algorithms, preferably in an industrial context
16. Robust analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
17. Ability to analyse complex information and develop solutions on time and on budget
18. Self-motivated, and capable of working on your own initiative
19. Interested in emerging technologies relevant to the business
20. Experience of mentoring/skills development
21. Good verbal, written and technical presentation skills
22. Membership of relevant professional body
