A leading aerospace manufacturing organisation in Tewkesbury is seeking an experienced Star Sliding Head Lathe Setter to join a high-performing CNC machining cell on a permanent night shift.
This role is suited to a midsenior level setter with strong Star machine experience, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to work to extremely tight tolerances in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set up and operate Star Sliding Head CNC lathes
2. Consistently achieve daily production targets while maintaining exceptional quality standards within a lean manufacturing cell
3. Carry out self-inspection and in-process quality checks
4. Use manual and automated metrology equipment
5. Complete quality audits and work towards self-certification
6. Read and interpret engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation
7. Accurately record inspection and production data
8. Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities
9. Perform basic preventative machine maintenance
