About the role
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our International Supply Chain Customer Care Centre in Birmingham. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best in the business and gain valuable insights into the industry.
The Customer Care Specialist Apprentice will be part of a team within the International Supply Chain Centre of Excellence responsible for ensuring efficient and effective customer service operations, focusing on providing outstanding care and service to our clients. The role oversees the importation process of goods into the country and will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, and optimising the efficiency of the logistics process.
What you will learn and do
* Develop strong expertise in general freight forwarding processes and industry requirements to support customers and ensure high satisfaction across our core logistics services.
* Collaborate closely with Operational Care Teams to fulfil and exceed customer expectations for timely, compliant, and efficient movement of cargo.
* Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for all general freight shipments, ensuring full traceability and readiness for internal or external audits.
* Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and customs brokers to monitor shipments, ensuring proper handling and timely resolution of any issues throughout the transport process.
* Proactively manage and resolve exceptions related to delays, damages, or regulatory compliance concerns to protect service quality and maintain supply chain reliability.
* Deliver excellent customer service through clear, timely communication and swift responses to shipment-related enquiries.
Qualifications and requirements
The minimum entry requirement for this apprenticeship is Five GCSEs at grades 3 – 9 / A*-D including Maths & English.
* Passion for providing excellent customer service.
* Strong work ethic, strong planning and organisational skills, ability to multitask and be a self‑starter.
* Previous use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial.
* Resident in the EEA for at least the last 3 years (required for sponsorship and apprenticeship funding).
* Entry level; if you are already qualified or experienced in this area of work, this may not be the position for you.

* Apprenticeship Contract: Fixed Term – 2 years.
* Working hours: 8:30am-5:00pm, including 1 hour lunch. You will be expected onsite full time during your apprenticeship.
