As we win new work, our workload increases, creating an exciting opportunity to join our established Belfast Engineering team. You will be responsible for the design and management of mechanical building services projects in complex buildings, including refurbishments. You may work as part of a larger team on major projects or manage your own projects independently.
The role:
1. Responsible for delivering engineering design solutions covering all aspects of mechanical building services engineering consultancy.
2. Manage the end-to-end process from concept design to site installation and commissioning.
3. Perform calculations and coordinate mechanical services with high accuracy.
4. Collaborate within a team to deliver complex and large-scale projects.
5. Work across sectors such as commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, education, and leisure, in both public and private domains.
6. Mentor and support the development of junior staff, including Graduates and Apprentices.
7. Understand contractual matters, project management, team management, and change control.
About You:
You should have relevant education and experience in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and be a member of CIBSE, IMechE, IET, or an equivalent professional body. Relevant design experience will also be considered.
* Ability to handle meetings with clients and contractors throughout all project stages.
* Experience in the design and supervision of projects.
* Chartered Engineer or working towards chartered status.
* Experience in the management of projects, preferably in health, education, or defense sectors.
* Valid driving license.
* Ability to work within a team on major complex projects across the UK.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with REVIT is preferred.
* Experience with thermal modelling software like IES is desirable.
* Energy assessment capabilities are advantageous.
* Understanding of BREEAM for M&E services.
* Knowledge of Hevacomp or similar calculation software.
* Willingness to travel within the UK, Ireland, and internationally for short-term projects.
* Willingness to obtain necessary security clearances is beneficial.
