About the Role
The Inside Account Manager – Virtual Sales is responsible for managing and optimising e-commerce operations and lead management processes to drive online sales growth.
This role oversees digital sales channels, including customer portals and websites, ensuring a seamless experience from product discovery through to purchase and after-sales support. It also manages lead generation and tracking, supporting new customer development and pipeline growth.
The role works closely with sales and marketing teams to align activity, improve performance, and maximise revenue.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day performance of online sales platforms to ensure a smooth customer experience
* Oversee web transactions including registration, payments, and customer support queries
* Coordinate order fulfilment and after-sales support to maintain high customer satisfaction
* Develop and implement plans to grow e-commerce revenue and expand market presence
* Monitor and analyse sales performance, customer behaviour, and market trends
* Optimise the online customer journey, including platform functionality, navigation, and checkout
* Maintain accurate and consistent product listings, descriptions, and pricing
* Act as a key point of contact for e-commerce activity and share updates with internal teams
* Provide training and support to internal teams and customers on e-commerce tools
* Report on performance metrics such as sales, conversion rates, and ROI
* Manage and improve processes for capturing, tracking, and nurturing leads
* Maintain accurate data within CRM systems and ensure timely follow-up
* Work with sales and marketing to qualify and progress leads through the pipeline
* Conduct initial outreach and follow-up with prospective customers
* Monitor and report on lead performance and campaign effectiveness
* Support lead generation activities using relevant tools and platforms
* Stay up to date with best practices in e-commerce and lead management
What We’re Looking For
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, E-Commerce, or a related field
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in e-commerce, digital marketing, or lead management
* Experience using CRM systems and web analytics tools
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
* Excellent organisation, multitasking, and communication skills
* High attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
* Customer-focused with a strong commercial mindset
* Comfortable working with digital tools and platforms
* Adaptable and able to manage changing priorities
