The Department of History at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Late Roman / Medieval History (with Latin) (Teaching and Scholarship). This is a 0.8 FTE one-year fixed-term appointment starting from 1 September 2024. The ideal candidate should have experience in undergraduate teaching, including Latin, and an active research or scholarship program. Responsibilities include teaching 'The Fall of Rome', a module on the decline of the Roman Empire, as well as Latin translation modules for undergraduates and postgraduates. The role also involves contributing to the department’s teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising dissertations, and participating in departmental administration.
